Why a blog about online journalism security/privacy law?
One important thing to note is that technology progresses faster than law. This means that current Internet law (cyberlaw) is limited in its scope and reach because a tradition of legal precedents and case law surrounding new Web realities is still in its infancy. This presents many challenges to online journalism and those journalists, editors and reporters working now because they are unsure of the boundaries and ramifications of their decisions. In the meantime, as journalists and legal scholars continue to grapple with difficult Web publishing decisions, this blog has been established to be a resource for those interested in keeping up with the latest issues related to Internet security/privacy law.
